Layer's Residences
Primarily intended to host artists in Artist-in-residence programme, our Tourist-in-residence welcomes you to stay in the old town of the city Kranj in the 200 years old Layer House. Named after a great Slovenian painter Leopold Layer the house offers an intimate, cozy and unique stay to business travelers, couples, friends and families who aim to experience a warm, artistically and culturally touched atmosphere.
The apartments are fully equipped, with Wi-Fi free of charge. One can catch a glimpse of the art works in the galleries in the artistic part of the house or visit various evening events in the Layer House and other venues in the city. A charming garden behind the house offers a beautiful view of the forest and river, and is convenient for relaxing and socialising or just enjoying the scent of roses, box trees and lavender.
The city of Kranj represents a cultural and sociable crossroads of this picturesque region of Gorenjska. The house is close to rail and bus station, and it is just a 10 minute drive away from the airport of Jože Pučnik. The capital of Slovenia - Ljubljana is 20 minutes away and the beautiful lakes of Bled and Bohinj and the famous Slovenian alps will only take a couple more minutes to reach.
The Suite can accommodate up to three persons, with a double bed and a pull out sofa. There is also an en-suite bathroom and equipped kitchen with dining area. Breakfast available upon agreement.
The Bedroom has 4 single beds and an option of two additional beds on the pull out sofa. Besides the bedroom there is also a living area and a bathroom. The residence is appropriate for a group of friends or family on an active vacation. The Layer house team will be more than pleased to give you advice on what to see in and around Kranj and where to find the best local food specialties.
